We’re working for you.

When making a decision, having information is crucial. Buying a home is a big decision. Using technology including a FLIR camera, we’re here to make sure you have the right information to make that decision. We are working for you, not the seller and not the real estate agents.

A home inspection is an important step in buying a house. It lets you know what you’re getting into – what’s good, what needs work, and everything in-between. Whether it’s a single family home, townhome, condominium, or other property, you want to know what you’re buying.

As a home buyer, you should try to be there for the home inspection whenever possible, and you will receive a hard copy of the on-site inspection report for you to keep. If you are unable to attend but a representative is there on your behalf, we will either provide a hard copy to your representative or mail it directly to you. If you prefer, or if nobody can attend the inspection for you, you will receive an electronic version. You will always receive your copy of the report.

At BHI, we simply do it better. Our inspector has over 13 years of experience flipping houses and doing home renovations in the Greater Toronto area before moving to Ottawa. He knows what to look for, where to look, and has the right tools to do it. Using infrared (IR) technology, the same kind the famous Mike Holmes uses, he will show you hot and cold areas in the house. This can help identify potential issues with insulation, heating and air, and even plumbing and electrical.
